FTMO Withheld My Completed-Cycle Payout After Introducing a Rule Without Contractual Clarification 28 Oct 2025: FTMO introduced a new “1% risk per trade” rule via email, without stating it was a binding contractual amendment. 29 Oct 2025 (before the next cycle): I explicitly asked FTMO whether this rule was legally binding or just a guideline. FTMO never answered that question at the time. I therefore traded under the original FTMO Account Agreement, completed the cycle with profit. FTMO later refused payout, claiming email consent — despite never clarifying the rule’s contractual status when asked. This is not about trading losses or strategy. It is about contract transparency and informed consent. I am now pursuing formal dispute resolution.

This is quite annoying, each time I made a payout/reward claim, my MT5/trading account was unavailable during 1 week, the time that provide me with new MT5 credentials. In the end, if you make 1 payout/reward claim per month, you cannot trade 20% of the time, which is hardly viable for some trading strategies. After 4 successful payouts, those regular and huge interruptions made me very upset and I finally deviated from my strategy, resulting in account loss... In the end bear in mind, if you have a $200K FTMO account ($10K drawdown allowed), this is the same as if you trade with $10K using your own funds (without the 1 week interruption). Knowing this, when it comes to the challenges, when they say you have to make 10% for phase 1, this is misleading, you have to make 200%!. The positive thing is that I have now decided to trade with my own funds ($40K), and when you are profitable, this is much better.

Initially, I was quite satisfied, but the commissions turned out to be unreasonably high. Even after passing the challenge and verification on the first try, and getting the account within three weeks, they didn’t offer a fair refund. I felt it was quite unfair that a tiny margin just cents ould cost the account. With 20% of profits taken, these fees seem excessive. Overall, I cannot recommend it.

Unfair Account Closure & False Accusations Without Any Proof - Stay Away I am writing this to warn the global trading community about FTMO’s recent unfair practices. I have been a loyal trader with them, but they recently terminated my accounts (541077242 and 511106464) based on a completely false accusation of "cross-account hedging." Here are the facts that prove my good faith and their error: Proven Loyalty: On my 100k Swing account, I made a $3,000 profit. Instead of withdrawing it, I chose to ROLLOVER the entire amount to the next period to grow my account. A trader trying to "manipulate" the system would never risk their profit by rolling it over. Account Growth: I grew that account to $108,000. While waiting for the payout day, I showed my trust in FTMO by purchasing ANOTHER 100k Swing account and started trading Phase 1. The Shock: On the payout day, instead of receiving my hard-earned money, I received a cold email accusing me of hedging. I have never used such a strategy. No Proof Provided: They claim to have "technical evidence" but refuse to show a single trade log that proves their claim. It is clear that their system has a "false positive" error, and instead of conducting a manual human review, they prefer to seize the profits of successful traders. I have invested immense time and effort. I demand a manual re-evaluation and the restoration of my accounts.

They delievered on everything they said. Once I passed both stages of the challenge, I got an actual account and the profit I made from that account I got in my bank 2 days later. I also got the refund fee around the same time. So far everything has been going smoothly and its been a 10/10 experience.

I’ve been dealing with an account access issue for over a week now. I fully understand FTMO’s Terms & Conditions regarding single registrations, and I’ve complied with every instruction provided …including deleting the duplicate email address as requested. However… after following their directions, my main active account was locked. I’ve had to go back and forth between support and the admin team trying to regain access. While the representatives have been polite and professional, the resolution process has been slow and required multiple follow-ups. I’m hopeful this gets resolved soon but the back & forth & delay in restoring my active account has been frustrating..especially when I’ve already purchased two 200k accounts. Looking forward to a faster resolution

I passed the FTMO challenge in good faith, paid the fees, followed the rules, and only after passing was I blocked at verification. As a UK resident, I provided a full UK DVLA photo driving licence, which is one of only two forms of government-issued ID available in the UK (the other being a passport). FTMO refused to accept it outright and would not compromise, despite allowing UK clients to register, pay, and trade in the first place. FTMO hides behind a third-party KYC provider and takes no responsibility for the trader experience. There is no flexibility, no manual review, and no practical understanding of UK-specific ID reality. The result is that traders can pass, do everything right, and still be stopped at the final hurdle. This creates a serious trust issue. Verification requirements should be made explicit and enforced before traders pay or trade, not after they’ve passed. Blocking people at payout stage — whether intentional or not — looks bad and feels worse. I have now lost confidence that even if one issue is resolved, another arbitrary obstacle wouldn’t appear later. Trading requires trust in the counterparty, and that trust is gone. UK traders: be aware. Passing the challenge does not mean you will be funded or paid.

I still haven’t experienced much. But customer support is great. And the fact that they implementing these new changes to allow hedging and stop netting is great. To tell you the truth, when I ran on demo, i was completely off. I will try again after the changes and see how things are working before i buy my first challenge
